The FSB has released a must-read circular on regulatory examinations. Here is s list of the issues covered in this circular:
- Deadline Extension for Level 1 Examinations - FSB extends deadline for Level 1 Regularoty Examinations until 30 June 2012 for RE1 and RE5 examinations. Deadline for re-write of these exams is extended to 30 September 2012;
- Re-Write Fee - FSB investigating possibility of reduced exam fees for re-writes;
- Regulatory Examinations in Afrikaans - Only 2% of candidates required to write regulatory examinations have indicated the desire to do so in Afrikaans. FSB keeps to its promise to offer RE examinations in Afrikaans at the same fee of R900;
- Exemption from Clinflict of Interest Prohibitions - FSB has exempted the provision of training in respect of the Level 1 regulatory examinations from the conflict of interest prohibitions;
- Examination Progress - Stats released on how many intermediaries have so far written the RE examinations;
- Examination Process - Update on some of the complaints received from the industry.
